What do you do when life feels pointless?

You feel you have no direction? No purpose?
BlueVeins · 22-25
I just try to get my ass up and do something.

@BlueVeins yah that's where I'm at. Didn't sleep all night and am basically just gonna force myself to get up and do something. God knows what lol but at least something should help

its an illusion that we think life should have purpose...

the universe is pure chaos and pretty much everything comes down to rolling cosmic quantum dice... there is no room for purpose
astrosandorbits · 26-30, M
@EvilEmily shit i mean when you put it like that lol sounds like we're living in a DnD universe
Allelse · 36-40, M
@EvilEmily I like that a lot. No room for purpose. Well done.

Go visit a dog shelter or a VA hospital or volunteer at a food pantry or homeless shelter. Not to be nice or generous but it’ll give you some perspective.

You might be a bit too much into yourself.

Shit no, me and my brain know better not to let us go that far down.
astrosandorbits · 26-30, M

Setting mini goals helps to be focused and then helps you achieving greater one's

You create your own direction or purpose and there are many that more than willingly would choose one for you if you don't.

There's so many purposes to pick from to list a few

1. Pursuit of peace.

2. Looking after family.

3. Helping people who going through hardship.

4. Enjoying life.

5. Learning, becoming wiser.

6. Fighting the establishment or working for it.

7. Creating or destroying.

Loads more.

I would say, I find my greatest solace out in my woodshop, where I can work in quiet on some project and reason things out. Very seldom have I left not feeling I'd worked things out to a manageable degree.
Good council from friends whom you esteem for their integrity is also a great sounding board.

I was helped tremendously by pursuing subjects that sparked my passion. Give time to what makes you feel alive. It’s too easy to let that slide.
no idea, i haven’t been able to get out of this place for years now… ): sometimes something will randomly make you feel alive and u think u will finally get better and you know what to do, but then you get thrown right back down, even further than before.

@deathfairy it's at least nice for me to read someone else with a similar experience. It's like one day it seems everything is looking up and then the next day it's like it's back to this again. Maybe it's chronic depression idk
i am not a professional and prob the last person to give advice because i am in the same place, but it could actually be adhd, depression, trauma that needs to be dealt with, bi polar, or something else that you may not be seeing. it would be best if you got to see a therapist and they can work with you to figure it out. good luck on your journey 🥀 @astrosandorbits

then you must find a purpose, because everyone needs a purpose otherwise life becomes dull , dreary. No one can give you a purpose.
Im too busy to feel like that much.. maybe you just haven't found your place in life? Something you enjoy and that helps others?
Become part of something helping others find purpose and direction. A cause greater than yourself.
Yulianna · 22-25, F
