What did you think the word "Oracle" meant?

I thought it was an unsual mesmerising object in a museum or something similar. Like something people stare at in awe. Turns out it wasn't that at all.
Someone who was considered very wise, almost all knowing through spiritual rituals.

It’s a term for someone believed to have mystic powers. In the old world it’s someone who gets things told by the gods. Then interprets it and tells it to people after. Oracles were considered very important and respected
