I think most people see the faults in themselves. People generally are not deluded to the point they lost contact with the reality of themselves
It's just easier to dismiss, gaslight, or become defensive than it is to apologize and tell someone they're right, then proceed to fix themselves for someone else
It's where that selfishness comes in

@Iwantyourhotwife I wonder why it is so had to admit fault and apologise?

@caccoon I spent some time thinking about it
I guess it's a type of self-preservative act that stems from desperation. Cuz when we do bad things, we feel ashamed deep down
I mean, obviously so long as we haven't lost our moral compass and compassion 😅
But yeah, we know it's good to acknowledge and confirm for others that what we did was wrong ,_,
I think there are just too many reasons to discourage someone from apologizing but none of them are in service to truth and righteousness
And a beautiful thought which is sunnah is to forgive others. Perhaps are most gorgoues memories are when we felt vulnerable and ashamed and someone accepted our apologies, helped us feel safe that not only will they let us go but they also won't let this incident affect how they view you 😁
So not only should we apologize, I'm thinking forgiving others will also help everyone heal :)

@Iwantyourhotwife you're right. And forgiving others is very healing to oneself.
Because even in forgiveness, I think we can still accept that what the other person did was wrong and they are not to be trusted by oneself again.
But thankfully, trust and forgiveness are not the same thing.
Like salt and sugar, they can both be positive, while being very different.
