How about acquiring an education that will expand your mind and improve the society in which you live, rather than always seeking to get one step ahead of your neighbour 馃檪

Thank for the timely advice about punting. I did get quite damp the last time I tried it, so next time I shall take off my dress before getting into the boat. As there is not the slightest chance of me experiencing stirrings in the presence of a "dashing young man" I won't be too worried about keeping my legs closed 馃槍

@SunshineGirl it's not so much about 'getting one step ahead of your neighbour" but more accurately, ensuring that ultimately you have better neighbours.

This advice sounds as if it could have been given between the Wars.

@LamontCranston Certainly not the Roaring 20s. You must mean the Pelopannesian Wars. 馃お

I cannot tell whether this is satire or the most severe form of generational conflict I have ever come across.

The best part of university besides being able to study something you are passionate about are the different people, cultures and lifestyles one is exposed to.
