Is there a word for people on the Internet who like to listen to themselves talk? Lol

What are the names for these phenomena? There should be names. 🤔. Sometimes I wonder why these behaviors have become acceptable on the Internet. When we meet people like this in real life we recognize that they are an ass, so people generally don’t carry on like that.

Jane/Joe shares a a personal feeling/experience, clearly looking for people who can relate. There is no inquiry for advice.
Suzzie/Tod: I’ve never had that feeling! I have only had contrary experiences of that! My experience implies that there’s something wrong/less enlightened for not mirroring me!

Suzzie/Tod feels the need to boost their own ego by invalidating other people.

Jane/Joe: Asks where they can buy a blue sweater
Suzzie/Tod: uses this benign question to discuss how they don’t like the color blue, knit their own sweaters or only by local or only shop at thrift stores or use the thread as a platform to discuss labor laws in foreign countries or how sweaters are something liberal/conservatives do or they are a nudist

Susie/Todd is constantly looking for opportunities to assert themselves as special in some way that must be publicly, passive aggressively established

Susie/Todd: makes a statement asking for peoples opinions/advice and gets pissy when people don’t agree.

I suppose we all have a need to be heard to a degree or we wouldn’t be here

It’s one thing to want to be heard. It’s another thing to steal the mic, if that makes sense @SW-User

@WhateverWorks it does. And unfortunately I let people like that go. With not a little bit of guilt but..
WhateverWorks · 36-40
Yeah, I usually let it go. Every once in a while I’ll be in a mood though where my patience for their lack of manners isn’t there 🤭. In real life it’s very easy to look someone in the eye and be like, “that’s cool that you don’t like the color blue Susie, but I’m trying to ask here where I can buy a blue sweater. Do you know where I can buy a blue sweater?” to shut it down. @SW-User

true, social media celebrates narcissism in the name of self love
They are called liberals
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I’m centrist. It’s not that I’m wishy-washy. It’s just that my left and right beliefs(on policies) average out to ‘centrist’ lol All I see is a bunch of people so caught up in themselves/bickering that they are unwilling to co-create a viable plan to address issues 🤷🏻‍♀️ I live in a very blue place anyway, so aside from local issues (and by that I mean essentially choosing the town I live in based on Sociopolitical norms) my opinion/vote doesn’t effect anything 😅

So… I stoically don’t stress about it anymore @checkoutanytime
@WhateverWorks i know you dont want to talk politics, i just hope moving forward we can concentrate on the mess politicians have made here at home, and let other countries find their own identity movimg forward in the "modern world ", war time polotics truly is so last century, is what bothers me most about Bidens tactics.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
Yeah, I try really hard not to get into politics with people because of the futility of it all then people start name calling, which I don’t have a whole lot patience for.

Truthfully, I’m not sure how I feel about that topic because of the interwovenness of the world economy and advancement of weaponry. I do observe (not directed at you ) that a lot of people seem to have cognitive dissonance about that topic. They want the United States to get out of other countries’ ongoings yet also get upset when the United States doesn’t intervene. This becomes increasingly confusing when they have views that the United States should put less funds into our military, which would mean no longer offering foreign military aid.
I feel like.. people don’t realize you can’t have it both ways. @checkoutanytime

Self-absorbed fukwits.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
‘Fukwits’ made me giggle. That would be hilarious nickname for it ’@Miram

It's an extension of narcissistic personality disorder.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
It could be. It’s just become so normalized on the Internet that I’d hate to write it off as an epidemic of NPD @LordShadowfire
