2016 Sagamihara knife attack, a single assailant killed 19, and wounded 26 others with a knife

2017 London Bridge attack, 8 kills and 48 wounded

a knife is pretty effective when there are no means for civilians to defend against it...

of course, in every single case, it was a gun that ended the attack...

@wildbill83 The London Bridge attack was carried out with more than one person, plus after 8 minutes of the first attack all were shot dead by the police. Also a lot of time difference between the attacks.
