What defines who you are?

I read today that our actions don't define who we are. So what does define who we are if not our actions?

Whoever wrote that sounds like a self-centered narcissist who doesn't want others to define him/her. Others define us -- rightly or wrongly -- and what else could they define us by than our actions?

@dancingtongue well I did read it on a certain person's social profile who just happens to have been diagnosed as a narcissist

@morrgin I will resist the temptation to go into a "nailed it!" celebratory dance. That would just be too narcissistic.

Actions can be misleading, although they are very important guide posts. Our perceptions of another’s actions can also be erroneous. @dancingtongue

@Carissimi Others can misread our actions, I agree. But unless our actions support our thoughts and words, they can reveal our own self-deceptions.

@dancingtongue you deserve a celebratory dance☺️
