why are they making statements that the guy in custody IS NOT a suspect?

: 2x now weve been told nobody has access to QR code information.
as soon as the Q was asked how they found her. they (the cops) shut up shop and wouldnt answer.
no doubt theyve used the QR code system.

but why lie. it can obviously be used for good things. like tracking down missing kids. but why lie?.
