I do not like when able-bodied people get things that I have to work for, for free

I try to be grateful for what I have, food, water, shelter.

I try to be grateful that I have remained employed throughout the pandemic.

But I can't help but think: I'd probably have more if I didn't work.

I.e free food- extra snap/food stamp benefits ( I do not & have not ever in life received them).

Free money ( child credit- $200-300 per child per month) just for having a child.

Unemployment and housing help.

Pretty sure these folks incomes is greater than mine, yet they don't even have to lift a finger.

Apparently I'm doing something wrong🤷‍♀️

I, for one, am proud of ALL the people who would rather work than take hand outs from the government, and I am proud of YOU.

Having pride in YOURSELF, and taking nothing from anyone unless you can't walk anymore or something similar, is a great old fashioned value which needs to be revived, IMO.

@4meAndyou yes and no only that when you get out and work you build up skills & self-confidence, you can get references for other jobs, you also meet some people that you can network with. You have the potential to increase your earnings and build a life instead of sitting around being unproductive. And in the end probably a heck of a lot more happy than those who fritter their lives away thinking of only getting instead of contributing to the world.
