Is There Any Getting Away From It?

I believe all this negativity and bad news is making me ill. As if 6-months isolation is not hard enough from a pandemic (and before that being sick myself), and stress from trying not to catch it. But no, all the hate, all the unrest, and negativity has to be in my face. I’ve told myself, no more news or internet for awhile, but still it’s in my face. If I turn on Prime, to watch a show, it’s there with its reminders. If I choose a book for my Kindle, it shows me a plethora of books on things like “how not to be a racist.” My grocery delivery sent me an email on what they are doing to combat racism....what the hell is just buying groceries got to do with racism? Nothing! I just want groceries not a lecture. I feel like running away, but there is nowhere to go. Everything is BLM and hate and anarchy. My head and spirit can’t take anymore. It’s become a horrible world to live in, as though life is not hard enough without all this in your face virtue signaling. If you can’t be isolated for 6-months, and get away from it, I don’t know how one does, and save their sanity.

I’m just glad to get out in nature away from it all for a small escape. And I try to only watch local news and that’s mostly for weather forecasts.

I wish I could do that. Nature surrounds me, but there are too many people around, and I’m still on lockdown. Even though we are on phase 3 of reopening, I’m hearing of an increase in cases, so I’m still housebound after 6-months. The state of the world is just awful. I despair. @SageWanderer

@SageWanderer I like your new avatar. Who is it?

@Carissimi I am lucky enough that a fifteen minute drive puts me in a wilderness area. Many days there and not seen another soul.

The avatar is the mayhem guy from the insurance commercial. I thought it was appropriate for the times.

I don’t watch tv, so I don’t see commercials. He’s handsome. Looks like a British actor from years ago who advertised coffee. @SageWanderer
