'Ass' or 'Arse'?

Sometimes 'bottom' just doesn't cut the mustard, does it.

@Harriet03 🤔 harris hole nah sorry that does not really work either for me 😆

@smiler2012 Aristotle (arris) bottle. Bottle and glass = Arse!
Cockney slang 🤷‍♀️

@Harriet03 shame we don't do audio on here. I'd just love to hear your Eliza Doolittle "buy a flower off a poor gurl"!

@Valentine It always rains in Erefordshire, Ampshire & bleeding Artferdshie! ☔

@Harriet03 which reminds me. My daughter now lives in Tennessee. We travelled out to see Gatlinburg (beautiful)(also referenced by Johnny Cash in his Boy Named Sue song)(but that's almost gratuitously irrelevant). I stopped to buy some pop corn from a girl with a street stand. Instantly recognising my very James Bond accent (for I dooo have one!), she unreservedly begged me to say "Tea and Crumpets". I won't say the effect it had on her when I did, let's just say 'her knees did fair tremble'... 😉

@Harriet03 like this. What is it cockney rhyming slang for, remind me, Harris Brush, Tush?! Or am I losing it again 🤓
Valentine · M
@Harriet03 just got to your earlier answer, re bottle and glass', thank you. Not Tush then? Have I made a word up?!

@Harriet03 love it. Raining everywhere. Please, can I have some of whatever you're taking? It seems to be good and funly stuff!! 😳
