Coronavirus-Whats really goin on??

What do you think is going on with this virus? Do you believe everything you are hearing and reading? Why such a huge reaction when only 108 people have died in the entire country?Any interesting conspiracy theories or truths out there? My mind continues to be blown and my gut tells me we are being lied to,or only being told half truths .Tell me your take.

See the link below.
85%+ of the people who die of COVID, are past their 60th birthday. As of 24 March 2021, only about 22900 Americans under age 50 have died of COVID.
Every year, tens of thousands of elderly Americans die of pulmonary flu that morphs into pneumonia. This is a situation that all Americans accept in silence.
Nursing homes and the like need to adopt very strict hygiene protocols so as to reduce the likelihood of contracting COVID and seasonal flu. Events that draw large crowds, such as rallies, spring break, rock concerts and sport matches, may have to be regulated. But we should seriously entertain the possibility that lockdowns that prevent people from working are a treatment that is worse than the disease they purport to cure.
All first world countries are on the hook for shelling out tax dollars for old age pensions. Every elderly person who dies of COVID is one less person who is owed an old age pension financed by taxpayers. 1.37M residents of first world nations have died of COVID. Assume that 80% of these dead were retirees, enjoying an average pension of US$25K/year. 50% of these dead were in nursing homes costing US$35K/year and paid by the public purse. Assume that the remaining life expectancy of nursing home residents in first world countries, is 3 years. Assume that life expectancy, averaged over the first world countries and conditional on reaching the 65th birthday, is 16 years. Hence (30% of 1.37M) x (81-65) years x US$25K/year + (50% of 1.37M) x 3 years x US$35K/year = About US$250B the public purse does not have to spend, thanks to COVID.

There is nothing suspicious going on. Obviously we do not have the real numbers of the actual infected because no economy can possibly track and test every person,and ensure they upkeep with them for any changes.
The virus is dangerous because it spreads much quicker than the flu and not only are there no vaccines ready ,and wont be for some months,but we also do not have the proper antivirus medication to treat it,as it is new,so it is harder to address when it starts to attack the respiratory system.
The fact that is spreads so quick and therapy is not as effective ,making it more lethal,has drained most of the economies and brought to light so many weaknesses of the public health care system. That is what is scary,because you have ,say, 10,000 people who need a bed in ICU but there are only 500 beds..what do you do? And this is why a lot of people will be at risk ,because if they need care and treatment it is not for a certain the resources will be available to them..

Ethiopian politician and Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, claimed in a press conference in early March that the fatality rate for the coronavirus was many multiples that of the fatality rate of the common flu.
This egregiously false premise has led to the greatest panic in world history.
This inaccurate statement by the WHO director started the global panic.

@curiosi sure the fyck didn't help did it
It's a massively over played bit of Media scare really

@Wamfan213 Take the COVID-19 challenge! Film yourself licking doorknobs to own the libs. Try to get a high score.

Doorknobs at international airports are worth 5 points each. All other doorknobs are 1 point, except at Mar-al-Lago where they are 1.5 points each.

Given the rates of infection, both official and unofficial, it is on a pandemic scale. Quarantines can reduce the spread if everyone follows them, but let's be honest, there will always be someone that doesn't. We may never know the truth behind it, so it's best to live and keep safe.

I believe that it's only early days in the virus's life cycle so we won't see what's been predicted for us for another few months yet. If we don't see it at all i'll be very happy, but what's happening in places like Italy suggests otherwise.
CheriVanilla · 70-79, F
@SW-User I agree with you totally. I am reading online that Pence may be sending in military to build mash type hospital barracks so something is expected......

@CheriVanilla In my country Australia, the biggest issue we have been facing is some people panicking, mostly with buying out food as a lot of our supermarket shelves are empty. Just today i've read that people from Melbourne have been hiring buses and driving to country towns to buy up the supermarket food then take it back home and send it or sell it to people in China. This kind of thing is really not helpful and hurts the wider community. People need to not panic or take advantage of others while this is going on.

@SW-User @SW-User I agree with you totally--I just read this may last 18 months with waves of it over that time period--Lets hope that is not true--ty for reply

Bottom line is that we don't have all the information, but so far:
1. CoVid19 seems MUCH more contagious than the flu;
2. People can be carriers without any symptoms;
3. Many were probably infected weeks ago, before we began taking precautions, so the number of people infected could actually rise before it falls;
4. There are documented cases of people 100+ years old beating it.
5. Children appear to be unaffected but can carry/spread the virus;
6. Most of the deaths local to me were people with a considerable amount of pre-existing conditions.
7. I'm concerned that hospitals might get overcrowded, which would spell doom to others with all kinds of medical issues.

I'm all for doing everything I can not to spread this thing to anyone. That's all we can do right now and hope for the best.

@uncalled4 some sense among all this shit - thank you
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Yulianna Keep checking sites like the mayo clinic. I tend not to trust anything non-medical.
Yulianna · 22-25, F
@uncalled4 right approach
Yulianna · 22-25, F
this sort of nonsense is dangerous and irresponsible. people may well die because you made this post. you should be ashamed of yourself

It's real and the number will grow exponentially.

@SW-User I mean the whole truth about the virus--They know far more than they are saying. Im sure they arent going to tell us their real plans and reasoning-Devious creatures
SW-User
@CheriVanilla I don't see any conspiracy here. This virus doesn't serve any nation's interests.
CheriVanilla · 70-79, F
@SW-User I hope you are right and it brings us all together
Mindful · 56-60, F
Half truths? ... maybe... but in the US “Katrina” was considered a crisis because of 1) Unexpectedness but mostly 2) unpreparedness. Our system is not built to carry the weight of thousands of people in hospital beds each for 2-6 weeks at a time.

For the whole truth look Italy as an example. Most countries aren’t run like China, and it has been long documented that China does control information (closed communications)

The important thing, I hope is that the truth will be told in five to ten years, and we can learn from looking back and see things more clearly.
i loves me a good conspiracy theory.. i do i do..

but i aint never heard this one before..

straight of the net..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout There's one good reason I can think of why you won't hear that on the news: because they would be sued out of business.
