Do you think being successful (in career) is must for a happy life?

4meAndyou · F
No. Not for me. In fact, the stress and the time involved in becoming successful would make the opposite of a happy life, for me. For me, as long as I am comfortable, and have enough of everything I need, it's all good.

I think it's important to feel comfortable and effective at what you do. If you consider the lives of the famous and wealthy, you'll see that doesn't contribute much to contentment.
depends on your definition of happy

It is a part of your life's happiness, but not the soul reason. I found it fulfilling to be happy in my career, happy being a father raising my children was what made me truly happy. Finding a loving mate now would be another fulfilling facet to my life. Helping friends and family and strangers makes me happy. But the career by itself; no!

@WillaKissing True. There are other important things to make a life happy. And being success in career is one of such thing.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Somexyz Exactly, and thank you for agreeing.

@ABCDEF7 Depends on your definition of 'career'.

Being successful is as much a state of mind as being happy.

no
other things are more important
It helps smooth over some other things .. but won't inherently bring happiness
If you need more money it probably is.

Not in all careers. In order to be successful in some of them you would have to sacrifice a huge part of your personal life. So unless your work makes you 100% happy and you don't need social life outside it then you might have a happy life. I guess...
That depends on one's priorities. For me, it is. Though, success in career may mean differently from other people's perspective.
