Tell me about one of your dreams in life that got abandoned along the way...

I always wanted to have a huge giant family. I wanted to have a few children of my own, but adopt as well. I'm talking like a HUGE family with 11 or 12 children.
I guess my dream stems from not having much of a family of my own growing up and I wanted to be able to be a part of one as an adult. My only wish since I can remember was being a mother and loving all of these babies and kids.
My dream never happened though because my husband is adamantly against adopting any children, but we do have our own.

Writing for a living. I have made a little money at it here and there, have even won a state wide writing competition and had a few of my screenplays optioned by a major film studio. But what I mainly have from a lifetime of serious effort is several old cardboard boxes filled with old typescripts. I look at them, and I feel sad.

Now I only write for the small readership composed of a few of my friends. I am old now. I know this game is not over until I am gone, but it's pretty late in the day and the scoreboard is discouraging.

@NineLives: I'm reminded of the joke about the man who decided to swim across the ocean. He reached the halfway point, decided he couldn't make it...so he swam back!

I'm at the point where, having devoted my whole life to this...I just have to keep on swimming.
