Do you think placing expectations on someone is fair?

SW-User
You cannot have real relations with people without expectations. It's just impossible.
But they have to be realistic. And communicated.

Yes, depending upon what those expectations are. I can't have any kind of relationship with someone without some expectations. I don't expect people to be perfect, or even "normal" (I don't even know what normal is), but I do expect people to be genuine. I am genuine, and it's absolutely fair to expect the same in return.

depends. my parent placed expectations on me to go to college for vet tech, veterinarian, or a lawyer or doctor. while i want to go to college for writing i found their expectations overwhelming i ended up super depressed and tried to kill myself when i felt suffocated by their expectations.

Would you hire someone to fill an important position in your company without them ? I think of them as imposed goals ... a person can either meet them or be replaced by someone who can ... no matter if it be a job or a personal relationship .

Certain expectations and even requirements is normal and even fair...but they have to be realistic and not impossible to meet. The person having those expectations needs to keep in mind that nothing in life, the world, or the people in it is perfect.

Setting personal boundaries and expecting others to respect them is, expectations for someone to be a certain way not necessarily.

If you don't love them, just like your boss in company.
