Did Jesus rise from the dead?

The Archbishop of Canterbury believes not.
Dr Shepard stated
"It is important for Christians to be set free from the idea that the Resurrection was an extraordinary physical event, which restored to life Jesus's original earthly body. The resurrection of Jesus ought not to be seen in physical terms, but as a new spiritual reality"
He also said the the teachings of Christianity are largely symbolic and not to be taken literally.
No doubt he will be thrown out for speaking his mind.

There is evidence that in tbat part of the world at tbat time, it was common amongst religious sects that if somneone was cast out of tbat group tbey would be referred to as "dead." If that same person was later accepted back into the group, he was aaid to be reborn or gave come back from the dead.

Make of that what you will.

There were many prophecies of the Old Testament fulfilled when Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
If you don’t believe that is a matter of missing Faith.
For me, Jesus is the Savior and Lord.
voodoo1970 · 51-55, M
@Pfuzylogic that would be prophecies only documented in writings made hundreds of years after Jesus' death. In a book written by humans. In language forms that differ in many significant ways.

@voodoo1970
You don’t know the Old Testament.
voodoo1970 · 51-55, M
@Pfuzylogic you don't know history

@voodoo1970
History has yet to replace the record of the Old Testament.
The Old Testament supersedes the fiction that man has made up.

@Pfuzylogic Bahahahahahaha that's the funniest thing I've read all day!

@voodoo1970
I see there is no rebuttal just a pure emotional reaction from someone that lacks Faith. There is no story besides the Bible for history.

@Pfuzylogic In your opinion

@Gusman
You will see that most Christians...
Believers in Jesus as the Messiah have an issue with the ArchBishop.
I am very comfortable about the facts of the Old Testament.
voodoo1970 · 51-55, M
@Pfuzylogic better tell that to the half of the world that has thousands of years of documented history that predates the bible and isn't Christian.

Oh I know, they're all wrong and a book written less than a twinkling of the eye ago in humanitiy's history is right.
You have the right to believe whatever you want but you don't have to be an arrogant jackass about it (isnt arrogance a sin?)

@voodoo1970
I saw your response to another one here before I responded. You have pride and hate opposition to what you believe, man’s poor record of history. Man has yet to understand Noah let alone anything before it.
voodoo1970 · 51-55, M
Noah? WTF has that got to do with anything? You are aware that many cultures had flood myths that predate the bible by thousands of years, right?
Or the evidence for a cataclysmic flood in Europe during Mesopotamian times?
voodoo1970 · 51-55, M
At the end of the day, if you see the bible as anythig but what it is - a collection of stories intended to be a guideline for living a good life, written in a time if different language and dufferent values - then you are sadly clising your eyes to thousands of years of humanity and cultural development
Pfuzylogic · M
@voodoo1970
How about that and you sound amazed that the event from the Bible is verified.
I would suggest you consider the source of the Chinese characters. They date back to the Flood, the biblical flood.
Pfuzylogic · M
@voodoo1970
If you disregard the Bible be prepared on Judgement Day to have an answer.
@Pfuzylogic My answer will be to ask why God didn't appear to me in person, and instead sent his arrogant and sanctimonious representatives to speak for him.

"We are doing God's work!"

"Why, is he sick or something?"

@LeopoldBloom
You might need someone intelligent to interpret this for you.
@Pfuzylogic I understand the Bible better than you do, sport.

@LeopoldBloom
I see that is what you put down when the other person is asleep. I sincerely doubt that you know the first thing and even if you knew some scripture without Faith it profits you nothing.
