@TacoCat There aren't many parts of city government that aren't influenced by the mafia here. My grandma has spent the last fifty years fencing jewels for the Chicago Outfit, she was friends with all the big names, Harry Aleman, Joey Lombardo, Frankie Schweis, Anjelo LaPietra. She still knows every damn mob burglar in the GMA. It's impossible not to see the influence of shit like that when you're so close to the people who do it.
