Does the state you live in...

Require cancer warnings on retail coffee cups?
purplepen · 51-55, F
Not yet, thankfully. Coffee helps reduce the risks of some cancers anyway.

@purplepen technically all cooked foods cause cancer lmao
Since the beans are toasted or something that includes coffee
Pambi · 26-30, F
@purplepen I guess now their saying the chemical, acrylamide, is a carcinogen created when coffee beans are roasted.
jackson55 · M
Do you believe coffee causes cancer?
jackson55 · M
[@ Sounds like some crazy California beaurocrat had nothing to do one day and had to make a new law.
xSharp · 31-35, M
@Pambi acrylamide, its mostly found in high carb foods cooked at a high temp like bread french fries and cookies, so the amount in coffee is far less than in those other high carb foods,

the cali bill is a cash grab, people just dont know any better
jackson55 · M
@xSharp Most of the new taxes in California are called Jerrys pension tax. California owes state employees so much money they will never be able to pay it.

There's cancer warnings on everything but not coffee.
purplepen · 51-55, F
@Pambi But not weed I don't suppose?
Pambi · 26-30, F
@purplepen Go figure, right.
SW-User
@purplepen weed is sacred

No, all of these studies show benefits from coffee, then another study shows its bad. I recently found studies show you may get cancer from doing a study.🤔
Pambi · 26-30, F
@Itsmrsockmonkey Haha... wouldn't surprise me.
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
I just hope that if/when the FDA or state requires new labels on coffee warning about cancer (regardless of the truth), that it does not raise the price...

I'm addicted already..
jackson55 · M
[@ Knowing California they will probably want to tax it so they can do some nonsence cancer research.
Pambi · 26-30, F
@polyandrym66 Me either but assured that cost will be passed on to the consumer
menkaure · M
At this point I think everything causes cancer it just seems to be a matter of degree. Until next week when the study that says that same thing actually doesn't cause cancer comes out...
indyjoe · 56-60, M
As far as I'm aware they don't, but I could've just missed it. I live in southwestern Virginia and I've never seen it.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Run for the legislature in my state.
