Once self driving cars are even marginally safer than human drivers, is it our moral imperative to prevent humans from manually driving cars on public roads in order to save lives?

@ViciDraco thats an interesting concept. Humans are terrible drivers, I feel like an automated system would greatly improve our travel system.

@EnchantedAzy it would, though at the expense of human independence of diving and autonomy over their vehicles. They'd have to go to special private tracks for manual driving experiences. A lot like how smoking is banned in public for a lot of places, with a few private exceptions.

@ViciDraco but wouldnt that be better...? Bring back pleasure to driving instead of having it as a neccessary chore.

@EnchantedAzy I think so. But an alarming number off people want you to pry the steering wheel from their cold dead hands. I'm in the pro camp. I can't wait for my car to not have a steering wheel at all. But there are some who'll never trust a computer to dive no matter what the stats show.

Well then they will have to let the times and society leave them behind.
