Teacher wanted

@TexChik How about you stop anyone under 21 being able to buy or own a gun? Stop the general public from buying assault rifles along with semi and fully automatic weapons. Teachers should teach and not be bodyguards.

@TexChik Children have been shit in every DEM and GOP administration in recent history. Neither conservatives nor liberals really give a shit about children, despite their political noises. This is so obviously not a gun issue. The left wants to take the guns away. The right wants to put guns everywhere. We could deal with it like we dealt with federal buildings and courthouses and actually secure schools. And guard them. A lot of things need to not make their way into schools. Guns. Knives. Meth. Fentanyl. Simply arming teachers doesn't solve but one bit of that.

And libs protect themselves with armed security ... obama protected his daughters with armed security... but in our schools we can’t protect our children ? Because ???? Common sense says that teachers teach and whatever needs to happen to stop idiots getting hold of guns in the first place needs to be sorted. Teachers carrying guns is not going to solve this as a teacher one day will make a mistake and kids will get killed with a teachers gun. Arming teachers is just not the answer. Someone somewhere is making a lot of money out of children being killed and it's about time this stopped.

@Bigrobbie I don't understand the resistance to securing schools. There are a lot of people and things that one wants to keep out of a school and this solves them all.

Armed guards. OK. That's a secondary line of defense. It's critical once a shooter starts. It's not going to stop the first round from going off. The first round needs to not go off.

The reason people say "arm the teachers" is that teachers are the universal scapegoat these days. If you're going to be mom, nurse, doctor, counselor-- might as well be SWAT team too. And nobody will want their property tax going up to pay for securing schools.
