A near death experience in 2012. Definitely think it happened for a reason.

No, but we make reason out of what happens and some of what happens are choices to do with our backgrounds

@SW-User True. It’s only while looking back that we can make reason out of it, not while it’s happening or before something happens or before we make a decision.

@ethereal Yes... Thank you for best answer☺

Well I believe that events have a cause. But I get that the 'happens for a reason' sort of hints at some sort of larger plan or predestination. But if my life is predetermined then it's meaningless. I'm just a video someone hit 'play' on.

@CaptainCanadia I don’t think life is predetermined, it’s only while looking back that we can make sense of whether something was meant to happen or not.

@ethereal Well what do you mean by meant to happen? I agree that in hindsight we can understand how events lead into one another, and perhaps look on the bright side of tragedies - but 'mean to happen' implies intent. Whose intent?

I do believe that everything does happen for a reason, wether is a choice that we make or just pure coïncidence, IT Will affect our life one way or another. We can learn from every situation or just act blind to it,but no matter how we decide to deal with it, it will have an impact

I hold no certainty, but have witnessed such symmetry in my life, in my art, which is a shadow of my life, that I suspect there is purpose and design and that perhaps some things happen for a reason.
No ... but there is reason behind how we select to respond to things that happen in our lives.

But, I do believe the Lord works in ways we do not percieve nor aware.

Yes. Too many to list though... :/ It's hard to describe, even.

Things happen. We give them reason because we have to. That's why religion exists. People can't accept natural chaos.
ethereal · F
@SW-User Religion how?
SW-User
@ethereal people can't understand or explain everything. Belief/religion is the crutch for that which man can't explain, e.g., "It is God's will. "
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
I think most things happen for a reason, many are seeded by other worldly beings and our ancestors
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
nah. if there was a reason behind most of my actions i'd eventually be predictable :/
juiceyangel333 · 31-35, F
Not really. A lot of suffering seems unnecessary
Houdini · 56-60, M
Yes everything happens for a reason

Being deployed..
Most things have had causes, both direct and indirect. But I don't see things as fated to happen. Life just seems too random for that.
