How do you stay cool when there's no air conditioning?

In S. Florida, We open windows when the Hurricanes cut the power.
Hardest part on this, the neighbors all around have to add fuel to the generators so they might have their A.C. on. It's so loud!

I grew up without AC, we would hang out at the lake, use the water hose, small pool... at night we had a window fan in our room, to this day that sound of it running is so soothing still. We slept on top of our sheets, I didn't know what AC was until I was 16yrs old. LOL

2 stand fans and open my balcony sliding doors a 1/2 " in the day time and wide open at night , plus a cool shower if need be

Open the windows at night and close them in the daytime. The house stays cool.

Fans, cool drinks.

Here people open doors and windows and might have a fan. Air conditioning is only common in cars and hotel rooms.

Wet ur top cold water wring it then wear it

Tepid baths, cold compresses, and oddly enough, by drinking hot beverages that make me sweat.

Lots water and hoping for a breeze

Ice cold showers, make sure you get your hair wet too. And ice water.

I have fans all over the house but it's not enough

Stand by the open freezer.

Paper fan.

Fan or cold shower.

Drink ice-cold water.
