Do you want a universal 'social credit system' with that?

china has one. Here in Australia one is being trialled in Darwin (where the port of darwin was sold to the Chinese by the current Republican federal government), and Italy is about to set one up.

It is one pillar of a plan being pushed hard by the World Economic Forum which includes this, fully digital ID's, and CDBC's (Central Bank Digital Currencies). Part of the 'own nothing - be happy' strategy.

that's worse and Chinese style, I'm sure Australia and Italy are doing something completely different. In the US if you have a dispute with one company that makes it harder to impossible to get a house, a loan, etc.

@chockaholic2020 It's far worse - the spying is actually used to decide if you can or cannot do things, or access things. And it's being adopted more and more by governments of 1st world countries like ours. Think of all the monitoring your government does right now, and amplify it by about 10 or more. That's the Chinese social credit scoring system.

Note this is nothing to do with 'credit scores' which exist in all countries now, but credit scoring is included in the scope of the citizen monitoring that the Chinese social credit score system uses to assess a person's worth for determining access to things.

Not China style. I can't believe any democratic government wants to emulate that 😕

Financial credit schemes are bad enough. If you don't fit the mould of a modern consumer, you get excluded from important financial services provided by the private sector. It's a vicious, reinforcing circle.

Its a good idea for the 'Many' in our societies, who are falling through financial cracks in the system.

With very little effort Entrepreneurs can & will always take care of themselves & their loved ones.

Its the vulnerable, that need the help. So somesort of sensible 'Basic Universal Income ' would be the fairest and best solution to the financial crisis.

Quite recently, I read about a new financial world order which is expected to be fully implemented with the next 5yrs. A system which will readdress the current system shortfall.

Hopefully there will a closing of the gap ..between them who can help themselves & those you quite simply cannot.

@chockaholic2020 i am very familiar with the machinations of the social credit system in China and its negative impact. Im talking about if a similar system was used by a benevolent entity.

USA has had credit ratings for years, a primary tool for the corporations and the Republicans to keep regular people mired in debt.
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@plankter979 Credit ratings are a very different thing. Social credit scores are about monitoring every aspect of a person's daily life (mostly by electronic monitoring) and using that (via AI and other systems) to determine whether or not a person can access basic services such being allowed to leave their home, go to certain shops/businesses, use health and other medical services, open a bank account, buy shares or other investments, have a job, be allowed to travel, be allowed to have a passport, get married, subscribe to particular religions, access the internet, and lots more.

It's part of the 'you will have nothing but you will be (forced - almost) to be happy' mantra enshrined in the bigger picture termed the Great Reset. Covid and the covid drugs are a big part and they play into the social credit scoring system as well.

The UK government produced a 127 page paper on this last September.
