So a man claiming we need these shootings to maintain a right to defend ourselves against tyranny has died from someone exercising the right he protected while engaging in tyranny against a minority? Do I have that correct?
@Vin53

Further irony: Kirk rejects any empathy for or from his supporters.

"I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that – it does a lot of damage."

@Vin53 @ElwoodBlues Cherry-pick much?

Cherry-pick much?
OK, here are the Kirk quotes in context, along with some others.

"I think it's worth to have a cost of unfortunately some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the 2nd Amendment. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe."
Charlie Kirk at the Salt Lake City campus of Awaken Church on April 5, 2023.

And Charlie Kirk did NOT want your empathy!

"I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that – it does a lot of damage."

Kirk opposed the Civil Rights Act: "I have a very, very radical view on this, but I can defend it, and I've thought about it," Kirk said. "We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s," he said at a December 2023 political conference hosted by his Turning Points USA group.

In a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, Kirk also reportedly compared pandemic vaccine requirements to apartheid. In a February 2024 Instagram post, he also talked about the "great replacement" -- a widely debunked conspiracy theory-- suggesting undocumented immigrants entering the United States to replace white Americans.

Overt racism: "I'm sorry. If I see a Black pilot, I'm going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified,'" Kirk said during a 2024 podcast episode with fellow rightwing activist Jack Posobeic.

@SumKindaMunster Basically and literally Kirk stated that the cost of living within the freedoms and liberties of the 2nd amendment simply meant the occasional mass shootings and that that price was acceptable. He died proving his point.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Vin53 That's a twisted and insincere interpretation of his point. You're a sick man Vin.

To those critics of Charlie Kirk sharing this headline, it's not a gotcha.

Yes, believing in the right to bear arms means there will be unfortunate gun deaths.

Just like believing in free speech means there will be unfortunate deaths, perpetrated by monsters who believe it's OK to murder you if you express certain ideas.

@SumKindaMunster Here's his exact quote, in case you have further difficulty wrestling with facts, like you frequently do.

@Vin53 Yah I know the quote, thanks.

He is referring to accidental gun deaths, not mass shootings or political assassinations, you insincere crank.

@SumKindaMunster The shooting was a horrible, despicable act. It was not a senseless act when one considers the regular, random killing of innocent school children and others. Regarding who the victim was and what he said and did, the situation played out to a logical end.

@SumKindaMunster Such kind, loving, caring folks those demonocrats, eh?
@sunsporter1649 So you're saying we shouldn't take Kirk at his word?? He's telling us we should consider deaths like his part of a prudent deal. Is Kirk lying about this??

@ElwoodBlues Cherry-picking at it's bestest, now show the entire show to provide context
@sunsporter1649 You have me confused with your research assistant🤣😂

If you think Kirk said something else in the show that changes the meaning, then by all means present it.

@ElwoodBlues Cherry-pick to your hearts delight, if that is your "pursuit of happiness".
@sunsporter1649 too long; didn't watch.

BTW, I took a glance; nothing there says it's the Salt Lake City campus of Awaken Church on April 5, 2023.

Try again.

@sunsporter1649 On June 14, 2025, Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman was assassinated in a shooting at her home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, United States. Hortman, the leader of the state House Democratic caucus, was killed alongside her husband, Mark. Earlier that morning, state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot in their home in nearby Champlin and hospitalized. Police responding to the attack on the Hoffmans checked on the Hortmans' home, where a man fired at them. The shooter escaped, sparking the most extensive manhunt in Minnesota history.[3]

Where was trump's outrage and flags at half-mast for these two back in June eh?
