Closet lesbian, iranian

I am a 27 year old iranian closet lesbian. I come from a strict family background. Just want to talk to someone who shares the same experiences like me. Strict family/culture, religion barrier, in the closet. Just want to talk about experiences and how they cope with it.

I really have no-one to talk to about who i really am from the inside, day by day my depression Just increases and it doesn't get any better. My whole life i have been lying to myself putting a mask on my face pretending to be a straight girl, I'm unable to take that mask of.

Well, it seems like the women of Iran are fighting to not wear other types of masks. Maybe things will change. I think most of the world is hoping for that.
It sounds trite, and easier to say than it is to do, but there's lot of countries in the world where people aren't oppressed in the way there are there. We have one shot at life, you know? There's an enormous Iranian population in Los Angeles. I actually lived next to a Persian lesbian couple when I lived there. No hijab required and you can be who you are. Maybe something to shoot for. Good luck. And sorry but fuck those who oppress through religion and culture. They don't have the right.

Yes it will change, i have full it that it is, everything the islamic iranian leaders are doing is wrong and it does go against religion, women have a choice and they are allowed to be free, but these leaders are throwing their weight around.

Whilst the women are fighting for their freedom and being violently beaten up, some of the islamic leaders grandkids are in american not wearing a scarff and walking around in dresses. So its double standards. Im so proud the females standing up for themselves.

I live in england and even hear i feel oppression by family and society, everything they say is, religion this, religious that. Im sick of it.

@Persiangirlx Thanks for that. The world is watching right now. Something has to change. And this protest is different than those in the past.
If you're in England it's a very different thing. Then it's a matter of you breaking free from what's holding you down. I understand the importance of family. Particularly in some cultures. What I don't understand is when family would not accept or want what's best for their family members. So this is THEIR issue. Not yours. You shouldn't have to pay for their insecurities. I'm very sure there's a whole lot of support groups there. Maybe just talking to some women who have faced similar circumstances would help. You're DEFINITELY not alone. For sure. Good luck.

I'm glad that everyone can see for many how years the people of iran have been oppressed, especially the females. The Iranian Islamic leaders do not represent the people of iran, if it wasn't for the Islamic leaders, iran would have been a better country today. I believe that iran will be free, the whole world is getting to see how the people have suffered.

The things that hold me down is, my family reputation, society. Like for example I have an uncle who is gay, I saw how he had suffered and what he had to go through, it wasn't nice. Then you get people who find out your a lesbian and they start to post nasty things about you online. Since a teenager, I've suffered alot of depression oppressing myself and my feelings and I still do. So it's like a gamble for me to even try to open up because I wouldn't know what would come at me.

I am trying to find people who are going through the same situation I am going through.

Thank you so much x

@Persiangirlx If you're looking for the people who understand...you'll find them. Because they're out there. WAY more of them than there are "haters." For sure. Not sure where you are but most areas have some gay friendly establishments. Maybe just being around others would help you not feel so alone. Hate to hear these kind of stories. I'm straight but many of my closest friends are gay. It's irrelevant to me. I'll never, ever understand why some get so hateful. I know it's insecurity, and ridiculous religious stuff, but man. What a lousy way to go through life. I'm SURE you'll find your way where you don't have to worry about that kind of thing. It's YOUR life. You run you. Best of luck.
