I am in Support of Transgender and Genderqueer People
Well I had a good night last night. Was planning on going easy with the drink, until I happened to come across loads of people I knew. But the area I live in, the support I've got, all the people are cool. Some know me from work, like they might be customers, some know me from open mics, and others through family. And last night, there was a person who had returned who was inappropriate on a previous night. Wasn't just flirting that night, more like assault when drunk!..He was there and I walked in and spoke to a person I know. The person had to go elsewhere however. And it was just me and this guy at this area of the bar. And he was drunk saying "Can we talk??, I'm sorry, can we chat?...but every single time I give him a chance to be genuine he goes too far!!..So I just said "I need to go after this drink!..I can't I need to go!"...But he left first angry. Then this guy came over and said he was here on the night the person was inappropriate, and a lot of people witnessed it. A lot of people support you, and I've seen you at work, but if he's annoying you, we can make sure he doesn't!!...And then he told me his name...The people in my area are amazing!!...And I went out to another place were a band was playing, and bumped into more people I knew. One of them works shifts at the bar I just left. And he was telling me about difficulties he had growing up with anxiety..then he said to me
"What we love about our bar is and the area is, there's no judgement..and others in the LGBTQ fear maybe walking into a place were its all big guys, drinking, incase they get awkward looks. You're one of few that come in, and I see you there with your family, and I highly respect them too, and their support. But I've told people about you only to make them aware that you yourself have probably faced difficult times too..but you don't care?..you just go out and enjoy life..and we look out for you"
