Was the desire to identify as trans just a passing fad?

For a portion of the population it definitely is a valid choice as sexual dysphoria is a real thing and creates a lot of pain in the person experiencing it. What happened in the early 2020s may have been a time of experimentation. Or, because of all of the negative press and new laws it might have gone back underground. What do you think?

I think my experience is probably different than others. I was an effeminate male all my life in denial of my gayness for many years. When I finally acknowledged my attraction to men I soon found out I was attracted to a certain type of man. That realization came after I found a man who wanted my feminine side more pronounced. I truly enjoyed where that was taking me and the more feminine I became the more I attracted the men I liked. They are a different sort of gay, or bisexual or even straight. I feel no need to be underground with who I have become and I mostly experience acceptance no matter what political winds may be blowing

I used to play this social game, where u could create your character, customize etc. Idk how it started, maybe I was bored, but one day I bought a pair of turquoise heels and began to wear them on my male character and tried to normalize it in my group of friends. With time even my whole style changed, that some people would tell me they assumed I was a lesbian.

@Dan193 I LOVE Pop One! I know exactly what it is and have played it on VR! I also play Fortnite lol. i haven't gotten to play in a while since i moved and have so much going on in rl, but my friend Vika got me into it. that game is awesome.🙌🏾

@Dan193 Vika IS someone i met in SL, but they're also someone i talk to on Discord and we also game on Steam as well as in VR. they sometimes play as female characters and things too. we play a game called Demeo too, have you ever tried it? the VR one is awesome, but they also have a PC version. My Fave VR game is still Synth Riders. lol i'm obsessed with it.

No, not everything, just a lot of stuff. lol. i keep myself pretty busy!

So you're saying that DEFINITELY for a portion of the population, then , DESIRING, to identify as trans.. they wanted so badly to identify as trans, that this portion of the population went thru the whole thing of psychologists, medical insurance battles, social stigma and surgery, it was all part of a fad and a time of experimentation. I have ALWAYS been Non-Binary and most people have legitimately no idea unless i put it somewhere or tell them or they are close to me. People usually just give the most attention to those who are trans i assume because they have the biggest issue with it, but there's all sorts of other things. i am not so concerned about people being curious so long as they're respectful.

There have always been trans persons since before there was even a name for it. the same as there's always been gays, lesbians, ENBYs like me and etc. just now people feel more apt to say it out loud. People are still coming out, i just think that they're being a bit more quiet about it because of what happens to them.

@DancingStarGoddess i first became involved because of a disaster at Hopkins and then when i helped establish a hotlines for HIV/AIDS in 1986. I dealt with the full s spectrum of LGBTQE, met regularly with representatives to work out their needs.
