I think it's because a non negligible portion of people believe two things at the same time: that trans women are men and that men are threats to women. There doesn't seem to be a similar amount of people who believe that trans men are women and that women are threats to men.

@SW-User and yet, how many assaults do you hear about involving trans women attacking other women?
I think many men have an ingrained animosity toward women and the idea of a person born male but in every way is a female, with the exception of male genitalia, is an assault to their delicate sensibilities.
Like how could a man possibly want to be a woman? A WOMAN!
