Those conservatives who throw their LGBTQ kids out of their homes to die, and cry over infanticide are HYPOCRITES 🙁

Laura Chaote recollects:

When I was 11 years old, I came out to my family and was no longer welcome in my home. After leaving my abusive home, I found myself eating out of trash cans and begging for food. Unfortunately, my story is not unusual but one of many. Members of the LGBTQ community are nearly twice as likely to experience food insecurity as other adults.

My experience with hunger and homelessness inspired me to make it my mission to help the LGBTQ community facing the same struggles I did, especially youth in need.

Now, I get to work toward that every day as a food pantry director in Oklahoma City. At our pantry, a partner of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, about 25% of the neighbors who visit the pantry identify as LGBTQ – and many are youth without housing.

There's a big problem in Oklahoma, and around the country, where parents disown and kick out their children after they come out as LGBTQ, leaving them homeless and unsure where to find food. Other LGBTQ youth find themselves without a home and food when they age out of the foster care system.

I wish they didn’t mistreat their own kids and disown them just coz they’re different. God has made them, just like he made us. So harming them in the name of God or religion is just wrong.

No matter what your religion.

I’m sure this happens to all kinds of children, not just gay ones. It’s not right, but I’m sure for every individual story like this, there are a dozen more who are not gay, and some children are not thrown out, they are just beaten and abused. So many children regardless of sexual orientation (and that’s a bit young to be thinking about sexual orientation) are horribly abused by their families.
@Carissimi It is, but 25% of those kids are thrown out just for being gay. 😕

Yes, there is no excuse for it, but you can bet they will find excuses for it.

Many of these people support "gay conversion" therapy. To them, abortion is wrong, but so is homosexuality, so that can allow for some nasty treatment of LGBT kids.
@SW-User I can only imagine how badly they must be treating their kids…and this is universal. So sad….we haven’t progressed in our thinking and discriminate against our own blood just coz they’re not what assume they should be.
I had a few that came to my support group who would be dead nkw if they had nor found us. One ran awat from their family, i cant repeat details but the parents thier to put then in reversion thetapy. A form of conversion therapy the churches do
Thet ran aeat happened to find us. Todaty, a year later, she is successful, hsppy, has real friends and had a new lease on life.
@Vivaci A lot of churches do this. Under the guise of "christian counseling." That is working outside the framework of the APA. which has said this does not work in 1980. When you hear of a person sent to "a camp for troubled teens"---that reversion therapy. It's starts by the counselor coming as you r best friend. They understand you. they were once you , They have stories, tell me some of yours. They get the trust- and by then it's too late for some. It's evil and it's christian evil.

They find me- or my group and we set them right. But I'm just a transwomen on a site that does not see me as valid or that validates me so what do I know?
@Elandra77 Thank you for educating me…what they’re doing is so wrong. I feel as though it’s a curse being born as a gay, even in today’s modern society. 💔

You’re awesome, E…so is your group. ❤️💙🌟👌🤗
@Vivaci Thank you. I just never want another to feel as lonely, discarded and unseen as i did 10 years ago. It was why i drove myself to then EP. In hopes to find one to let me love them from afar. I needed to learn to love again. I needed what was not available locally.

that is awful disowned for being different . maybe they find it difficult to accept initially but rather such a knee jerk reaction is so wrong . these parents need to think blood is thicker than water and try to embrace it and understand it [vivaci]
Ikr? Imagine trying to convert or throw out a child just coz they’re gay. Some conservatives are heartless potheads. @smiler2012

How old is that person today? That has a lot of bearing on that situation.
@JesseInTX She’s in her mid40s…but she still sees homeless gays in her profession.

They should all be jailed for child abuse.
Absolutely! 🤨@JoyfulSilence

Some of these people are so fearful of Sharia Law coming to North America.
