I Support Gay Rights

I used to not... My parents raised me the same way that my grandparents raised them... Being gay is a sin and very, very wrong and gays go to hell. That’s how I’ve always thought and believed up until recently. My precious fifteen year old came out to me as bisexual, and it made our relationship and bond stronger I think. She knew my beliefs and how I was raised, but she still had the courage to come out to me... Knowing what kind of mother I was, knowing that I would never turn my back on her no matter the situation, she knew in her heart i’d love her just the way she is... My parents on the other hand do not accept it, but they are aware that I accept her and love her and they love her too, they just don’t accept her “lifestyle”.

They will be really missing out on a grandchild.
And I feel sorry for your daughter but homophobes will be homophobes; In the long run she is better off without them.

Not all family is blood. She will find good people to be in her life.

@TrustInGod But she KNOWS they see her as somehow defective
not totally OK
> You get where I am going with this?

She may not even admit this to you, and I would not push the issue, because we hurt greatly when we are not accepted entirely for all who we are, by those who mean the most to us.

Love is unconditional
and it may not be easy and convenient,
but I hope one day they can get around to THAT.

And if not, she has you for her unconditional love. One person is enough to change our life and our world for the better.
@TrustInGod And on a side note, I will suggest a show, I don't often say that anything is excellent or worth my while totally. But I will give this such laud.

It's alone these lines. I don't know her age, it may be too adult for her. I'd say it is 18 or 17+.

It's called SENSE8. It ran for 2 seasons.
We are a bit confused for a a few episodes and it's a bit frustrating. So give it three or four episodes.

But, then things are clear and the show, for me, it was a gorgeous revelation and beautiful.

It addresses some of the stuff you talk about here, very pointedly and poignantly.
