What's the difference between transgender people and tomgirl/boys?

Tomboy is just a description for a girl who is into things people associate with boys. My mom was a tomboy because she liked to play with trucks as a kid. My mom is very much a woman.
Transgender is someone who not just feels, but knows deep down that they are the other gender. So it'd be like if you just KNEW you were a guy, and hated your body and wanted a different one because having a woman's body is wrong and gross. And the only way to be happy is to live as, and for some people change their bodies so that their minds and bodies match.
So very different thing. One is about how you act, the other is about who you are deep down inside.
