What's the difference between transgender people and tomgirl/boys?

I don't see a difference... no offense.
I just learned what's a transgender today.

Transgender desires to be the other gender, tomboy is a girl who likes welding or a tomgirl is boy who likes baking.
For example, I am a tomboy, but I don't want to be a guy.

Mmmmm....i was with you up to the part where you're genderizing welding and baking.

@CandyApple: Those are sterotypical classifications. I got told I wasn't a girl, because I liked to weld. It's what boys and girls were taught they were supposed to do/like to be a boy or girl.
(On that note, I'm not saying it's bad for either gender to like any things, just that it's the sterotypical definition that our culture has been based off of for so long.)

😄 Yes! In my intro psyc class, we took a math test and were asked our gender either before or after. They found that when people were asked their gender first, males did better. When they were asked after, males and females did the same. The power of suggestion.
