I recently came out as trans to my aunt

And she reacted the same way as one of my 3 sisters and most my friends

"That makes sense"

Then she started reminiscing about all the times I refused to be more feminine 😅

(To those who don't know: I identify as a man, but need surgery to match the look to my persona)

It felt great knowing I had one more ally. Still haven't come out to mom and stepdad, or any of the other older relatives, but it's scary so not gonna push myself.

Getting out of the closet lifts a weight off one. At least it did for me when I finally came out to my oldest friend a couple of months ago. Still have a few in-laws and distant friends to do but that's just because we hardly ever meet.

@ninalanyon luckilly all my past therapists know about the non-funtional relationship I have with my mom, so Rikshospitalet doesn't expect me to actually come out to her before getting further treatment.

@TheRealBarbossa I do hope it all goes well at the Rikshospital. I've started listening to the podcasts from PKI [1] and some of what people have to say about Rikshospital is pretty horrifying. I'm thinking of getting boobs but I won't be trying the official route because it seems like it takes too long and also because they don't seem to understand the concept of non-binary and insist on hormones before surgery.

@ninalanyon I've heard some horror stories too, but after talking to my doctor about it, I feel less nervous. I might have to go private to reach my goal, but my doctor supports me all the way and knows how important this is for me. Even if I do have to pay out of my own pocket, I will get there eventually.
