Has penis = M
No penis = F
Social media entity owned by Elon = X

Pretty self explanatory

@JesseInTX "Social media entity owned by Elon = X" got me laughing 🤣

Seriously though, gender and sex are different things.

Sex is determined by biology, but if you are born intersex (born with both female and male reproductive organs) the parents have to decide to make your sex more similar to male or female, and the person who's intersex might later decide that they feel more male or female in terms of GENDER, in spite of what their parents chose their sex to mimic more (intersex will always be intersex, and it can vary a lot to which degree and in which ways).

Gender is is a social construct, in other words it's made up; it is other people's perception of you based on your sex, but it is not literally your sex. The reason trans-gender people choose to become trans-sexual (meaning changing their sex), is because their sex doesn't fit their gender. It is simply easier for them to change their sex so that people will perceive them as the correct gender, which makes their personality make a lot more sense to themselves and everyone else. They know it does not literally change their sex, and changing the sex is not the main point. They will always have the same gender, no matter what their sex is, because gender is in the brain, not in their organs.

Sex = Biological
Gender = Psychological

@JesseInTX it really is pretty simple when you put it that way!

@Nightwings male female and confused.

So you agree that I can identify as the President and then everyone should respect that and let me run the country?
After all gender has nothing to do with sex , but it is about what you identify as
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Nightwings Well I want to say your effort hasn't gone unnoticed but they're not smart enough for all that so you'll just confuse them. In school, they only teach basic biology and advanced biology is pretty much getting into the meat of the matter which is college level.

I do appreciate your efforts though 🫡

@Nightwings I’m glad I could make you laugh but really I don’t need an explanation of what sex is and gender is. A person with a penis who dresses/acts as a woman is still a man and a person who doesn’t have a penis and dresses/acts as man is still a man. There is no such thing as TBD as the OP implies.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@SatanBurger you saying a person with a penis can be a woman shows your credibility in regards to biology and genetics is zero.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@JesseInTX There's a difference between gender and biological sex.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@SatanBurger scientifically no there is no difference. Just as a person with a penis pretends to be a woman, you pretend there is a difference.

@JesseInTX My point is that gender isn't biological, it is psychological. You cannot become the president of your country by wishful thinking, but personality is something you are born with. The point is that nothing is being changed, they were always the person that they are, at the core. Personality is in part shaped by life, and in part something that you are born with (hence why some people turn out bad in spite of growing up the same way as everyone else). It is not wishful thinking, and it is not always defined by their sex, it is their personality.

I think so many people are arguing against gender, because they simply do not understand that sex and genders are two different things. You tell me that you don't need an explanation, but then you go onto talk about how we can't change our sex. You can only understand the part about the sex. Yes, your reproductive organs define if your sex is male or female, that you are right about. You are not talking about gender at all. Gender is psychological, it is your personality.

The point is not to change the sex, the point is for the your sex to match your personality. You cannot change which sex you were born as, but you can change how people perceive you, by changing your sex. Now when it has been "changed" it matches your personality, so people will perceive you and understand you much better, and you will feel more at ease in your own body.

It is true that you cannot fully change your sex, you need to take hormones to keep it up, and reproductive organs won't be like the ones on the people who were born as that sex, that is all completely true. No one would argue with that. In terms of sex, you cannot change from man to woman, you can only have surgeries and take hormones, which will give the appearance of the other sex. I think everyone understand this.

You are confused because we say 'man' and 'woman' when we talk about the person's sex, and we also say 'man' and 'woman' when we talk about the person's gender. In the case of sex, we all understand that women can't become men and vice versa. In the terms of gender, the word 'man' and 'woman' don't refer to the person's sex, but to the person's personality traits.

You are not arguing that you can't be trans-gender, you are arguing that you can't change your sex, and we all understand that we can't truly change our sex.

@JesseInTX Your sex is biological. I don't know about the dictionary, but when people talk about gender in this context, they obviously mean the personality, not the sex. I guess people should come up with a unique word for it then, because apparently it is very confusing for some individuals to understand the difference.

@Nightwings not so. Answer me this have you ever been to a gender reveal? It’s to announce what sex that baby will be when born. There is only 2 choices m or f
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@Nightwings if you don’t know why did you post definitions? Do yourself a favor and read what you wrote. You are doing nothing but talking points but admit you don’t know what you’re talking about?
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@JesseInTX I have done nothing but explain that by gender, in this context, people mean the personality, the psychology, the social construct. I am saying this again and again to you. I have said it enough times already, if you pretend you cannot hear me, you are clearly not interested in listening to me.
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@KateATX Uh I mean I think you saying something like that, says a lot more about you than about me. I will definitely report you for that.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@JesseInTX The reason we know biological sex and gender are two different things is because of science, don't use big words if you don't know what they mean.

*Scientifically* pffttttt 😂
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@JesseInTX oh that's cute, you're talking about chromosomes.

@SatanBurger exactly sex and gender are 2 seperate things
