Wait till he's old enough to make up his own mind
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Sam17 I would say saying gender not determined is waiting for them to make up their own mind. If you just say someone is male or female then that defines them as male or female already.

I dunno what the passport thing is but I would say changing it to a gender neutral option is letting them decide later

@Sam17 no that's wrong parents must deciding not the children.

@SatanBurger why decided later how younger you change how easy'er it is to accept in public
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Danielle50 I'm not sure what you're trying to say. You're the one who wanted to change their gender to a gender neutral choice on a passport. People do that to their kids to let them decide what gender they are later in life. I dunno what you're going on about tho

@SatanBurger a penis can decide this.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Hatt94 Biological sex and gender are two different things.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Hatt94 Sex refers to a set of biological attributes in humans and animals. It is primarily associated with physical and physiological features including chromosomes, gene expression, hormone levels and function, and reproductive/sexual anatomy. Sex is usually categorized as female or male but there is variation in the biological attributes that comprise sex and how those attributes are expressed.

Gender refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviours, expressions and identities of girls, women, boys, men, and gender diverse people. It influences how people perceive themselves and each other, how they act and interact, and the distribution of power and resources in society. Gender identity is not confined to a binary (girl/woman, boy/man) nor is it static; it exists along a continuum and can change over time. There is considerable diversity in how individuals and groups understand, experience and express gender through the roles they take on, the expectations placed on them, relations with others and the complex ways that gender is institutionalized in society.

@SatanBurger here in Germany we can change it only once M or F to X without description and for trans people only with description from M to F or F to M
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Danielle50 Ohhh well if that's the case then you should leave it alone and let your kid change it later.
Hatt94 · 56-60, MVIP
@SatanBurger bah.
We make them to be different genders nowadays.
I'm a cat, i love pans, its so confusing.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Hatt94 Your lack of understanding about something doesn't change the fact that biological sex and gender were always two different things. There's lots of things that people don't understand but are true regardless.
Danielle50 · 56-60, F
@SatanBurger here is also a rule how younger you change how better it is for the feature.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Danielle50 Well I don't see how changing something to X would be bad if it's more meant for gender neutral, the kid will decide later but on paper they'll just be neutral then. Not really a bad thing.

Now it would be bad if you put female and your kid didn't identify as such. Gender neutral though, I don't see an issue.
Sam17 · 18-21, M
@SatanBurger then why change
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Sam17 Because it's it's gender neutral then the kid can decide to change their gender to male if that's what they are when they're older.
Sam17 · 18-21, M
@SatanBurger then wait till then
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Sam17 Yes, that's the point of marking gender neutral down is so we can wait until they decide and then change it to male, female or non binary. I literally just said that
Sam17 · 18-21, M
@SatanBurger he's male
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Sam17 gender and biological sex are two different things
Sam17 · 18-21, M
@SatanBurger he's 10 ffs
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Sam17 That's cool. Biological sex and gender are still two different things.
