Why are you thinking they HAVE to meet your expectations or change? They're under no obligation to do that and have their right to their own views and opinions. I had one of my cousins reach out of random, haven't spoken to her in several years, just to tell me she's transitioning from male to female. It was a huge shock to my family when they found out and I was a bit surprised too. Although, noticed I respected her pronouns? But I told her bluntly, who cares what I think! What you do to your body, your sexual preferences, religious beliefs, political views that you have 100% made up your mind on IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS. I don't have to agree with it at all, but it's my right to do so. What you choose to do in the bedroom isn't for everyone to know unless it's illegal. Lol Anyway, I hope I didn't sound harsh.
