Parents Furious Over Math Teacher’s Use of Threats and Coercion to Make Students Watch “LGBT” Video

A controversy is stirring at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California, after parents raised concerns over a math teacher’s reported use of threats and coercion to force students to watch a video about LGBTQ+ Pride.

The incident reportedly occurred during a regular math class when the teacher played a Bolt TV episode that featured a video promoting LGBTQ+ Pride, according to R-let Vaz, whose daughter Ivory was one of the students and who recorded the incident.

The video was part of a routine broadcast by Bolt TV, the school’s student-produced and administration-approved channel.

However, the student’s reaction was far from uniform, as most students found the video very uncomfortable.

One student can be heard saying, “Why are you showing this to kids?”

The math teacher responded by criticizing the students for what she considered “inappropriate” behavior. The teacher insisted that the students watch the content or she would give them a Saturday school.

“I’ll warn you guys now. If you’re going to be inappropriate, I will have supervision down and give all of you a Saturday school for next year. So knock it off,” the math teacher said.

With all the controversy nation wide over this very thing, one has to wonder - how stupid is that math teacher?

Oh, and kudos to the kid that questioned it.

Not the math teacher's "fault".

And if indeed the rights of LGBTQ* people are "controversial nation-wide" that is exactly why videos like this are needed.

Are you sure about that?

Or, do you assume that this behavior is part of the curriculum?

@Budwick The only "threats and coercion" mentioned in your own source were that the kids would have to go to school on Saturdays -- the kind of thing many an exasperated teacher has said.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

@Budwick Do you? What are the threats and coercion mentioned in your source?

@ServantOfTheGoddess the LGBTQ+++++++++ are a very small minority. If I were a member of that extremely small minority I would consider that maybe, just maybe I was the one that didn't fit. Maybe I should try to fit in instead of trying to make the majority fit my mold. If I only have one leg I am in the minority. I don't expect everyone to cut off a leg. I have to function in the regular world one way or another. LGBTQ rstand what ever else you need to function as a normal member of society not expect society to cave in to your minority.

@Baremine Don't worry, no one is telling you to turn gay.

@ServantOfTheGoddess wouldn't if they did.

I'm sorry, I thought printing it in bold letters would be enough in my previous response. Pay attention - here it comes again -

@Budwick I'll repeat myself too then. What were the threats?
