Dear LGBTQ+ people.

To what extent are 'gender critical' perspectives mainstream in your community?

I apologise for the possible sensitivity for the question. I'm a straight cis man who wants to be a ally to trans people. A certain friend of mine has been trying to 'educate' me with 'gender critical' perspectives. I'm highly skeptical of a lot if things he tells me. I know that trans exclusionary feminism is a thing.

To what extent is this a real debate within the LGBTQ+ community and to what extent is it atroturfed (astroTERFED 🤣) by certain political interests.

Not sure if it's mainstream or not, there's so much trojan horsing that it's hard to keep track. What I mean by that is that TERFS are like trojan horses, they want to invade liberalism with feminist ideals but are really right winged, their goal is to gain votes of moderates who may be voting for the far right unknowingly because most people don't think too deep and are one issue party voters.

So it's hard to say what's mainstream because there's a lot of subterfuge and stuff that goes on, even with anti trans scientists that come out. If you investigate these people, they're obviously kooks but they are also regarded as true just based on appeal to authority alone, never mind if medical establishments regard them as kooks or not.
