What are your thoughts about the LGBT community being represented in the media?

I just think that there is a lot of pandering going on.

Pandering how?

@MeowsoliniReturns Like, a lot of times they create characters which are almost like caricatures of LGBT people. They're way over the top and constantly have to point out that they're LGBT and make it a central part of their character, or even sacrifice the quality of whatever piece of media they're in just for the sake of having that character trait. Like a few years ago, someone wanted to make a movie with Spiderman but he's gay. Which would ruin his origin story because an incredibly important aspect of Spiderman's beginnings as a superhero are his girlfriend Mary Jane Watson.

@MeowsoliniReturns Do you know the New Warriors from Marvel?

@BlueMetalChick No. I'm not too familiar with comic book characters. That's my boyfriend's passion :)

@MeowsoliniReturns The New Warriors were a cast of superheroes created in the 1990's as a representation of the youth culture of the period. They were a lot of fun back in the day, but there hasn't really been much material made with them as of late because they were purely a product of their time. Marvel has tried to reboot the New Warriors with a fresh cast of young heroes who are supposed to similarly mirror today's youth. The attempted reboot was absolutely atrocious, so bad that it's become one of the most widely mocked Marvel releases to date. Among the new heroes were a pair of LGBT identical twins, named Snowflake and Safe Space. They actually named two heroes fucking Snowflake and Safe Space.

@BlueMetalChick Be as it is, but if wonder woman were protrayed as a lesbian, many men would be heart broken.

@CestManan Batwoman was made into a lesbian recently for the recent Netflix series and it bombed so bad. Personally I disliked it because her entire origin story begins with her becoming a superhero because her husband was a police officer who was killed in the line of duty. A lesbian wouldn't have a husband.
