What are your thoughts about the LGBT community being represented in the media?

I just think that there is a lot of pandering going on.

I have conflicted opinions about it. On the one hand I think it's a good idea to normalize LGBT because, well, it is pretty normal. But on the other hand, it can't be too on the nose or else it seems really forced, in which case it's counterproductive. It's almost like an insult more than anything. Look at Marvel Comics. They recently unveiled a new cast of heroes for the New Warriors reboot, among them a transgender hero named Snowflake. Like, really? You're naming a transgender hero with a word used to insult transgender people. It's like if you wrote a Black superhero and named him Super Nigger.

@BlueMetalChick don't forget safe space, the typical overall jock haha

@Torsten THEY EVEN SAID THOSE EXACT WORDS. THE STEREOTYPICAL BIG BURLY JOCK.

Homie has pink dyed hair and matching gauges in his ears, and wears heeled boots. What fucking jock in the world dresses like that?

And then there was their teammate Screentime, the "meme-obsessed super teen" whose brain is permanently connected to the internet as a result of him being exposed to his grandfather's "experimental internet gas" as a child. Experimental internet gas. We have attained peak level or boomerism.

Screentime's superpowers include being able to see virtual maps in real time and the ability to instantly Google any fact. You know who else can do both of those things? Any human being who owns a fucking smartphone.

@BlueMetalChick that's why I am making fun of it because the creator is clearly delusional to think that dude is a typical jock haha.
The whole thing is a complete disaster and the downvotes on that mess just prove it
