Is being trans a mental illness?

Is being a transsexual and or transgender a mental illness? Discuss.

(Disclosure): I mean mental illness in the same sense as any mental illness such as ADD, ADHD, OCD, all the way to schizophrenia. I’m not using the term mental illness as in a brainless nut job.

I try to live by two things... live and let live and two... who am I to think and judge anyone for anything! Everyone has to live their own life and do what makes them happy... and as long as they are good people... and not hurting anyone... let everyone be who they are... because that’s all I want from society... is to be myself.

@Spokeskitties75 exactly my friend! Regardless of our religion, beliefs, political side, sex, gender, race etc. It should not matter. We should always meet people with postitivity. (There are exceptions obviously)

Never should someone assume that:

Christians and atheists
Muslims and Jewish
Blacks and whites
Men and women
Conservative and liberals are enemies.

If that is the case said person should just empty their mind and approach people and get to know them
