Is being trans a mental illness?

Is being a transsexual and or transgender a mental illness? Discuss.

(Disclosure): I mean mental illness in the same sense as any mental illness such as ADD, ADHD, OCD, all the way to schizophrenia. I’m not using the term mental illness as in a brainless nut job.

Being MTF trans me self i dont see it as a mental illness but Anxiety Depression and Dysphoria can be sen as a mental illness and soem might try to say itsa phase or a mask for some thing deeper .
Transgeder folks feel there body dont match the mental image of them self so they undergo hormones and changes to match everything my 2 cents but ya
