Know that it's totally normal, for one thing. In an ideal world, it'd be no different from telling them you were left-handed.
Try chatting to them about their opinions on related things to start with, that should give you a clue of how they might react. But if it looks bad then don't worry - there is no pressure to let them know if you don't feel comfortable. It's your business.

That's very normal. Your parents love and acceptance are so important to you. I think you just need to tell them straight out.
