@katielass in what way are people getting dumber ? Me ?
katielass · F
@JackLondon No, it's dumb to ask people what sex they are. I mean, really?
JackLondon · 51-55, M
@katielass yeah I know
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
well the daily mail.. i wonder about theirs.
but, i heard about that also. uh, i know there's times when one has to ask just in case but.... (like medical, endocrinology and such.)
but for employment.. well they ask here like 'wtf? you want a doc or a dick?'

@sighmeupforthat It's optional in the UK to fill out the diversity questionnaire on a job application, but it still pisses me off it's there

I think it's for how best to have safe sex. but I agree with your comments.
JackLondon · 51-55, M
@Sroonaka616 I don't believe it is, but I maybe wrong, fairly sure they could do that without asking someone their sexuality, everyone should be safe
katielass · F
@JackLondon Who doesn't know how to have safe sex. It's 2017 for goodness sake.
JackLondon · 51-55, M
@katielass well you'd be surprised, my friend is a nurse in a local doctors surgery, and some young people really don't

There is the option of declining to answer which I hope everyone chooses to do. There’s no point in the exercise whatsoever.

well what is their reasoning?
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
@Carissimi They said that? Because what a person calls themselves is different than what they were born with which a doctor would need to know, and I even thought it may be to do with things such as STDs. It seems like so many are ready for it to mean something mean. I sort of think medical staff have more important worries than bothering someone about something they think is useless info ya know?
Carissimi · F
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I know the BMA told gynecologists not to use the word "mother," so as not to offend trans. It's gone beyond absurd.
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
@Carissimi yes that sounds silly
