Always check the website...They replicate the genuine websites. They do this for car tax, driving test application also my wife got caught on the USA ESTA application.
Legal sites that charge you for doing something you could do yourself.

@braveheart21 I think they charged £80 on top of the actual cost which if I recall was $20 ish

We got the money back

I'm lucky here in Norway. We also have an annual road tax/excise duty/whatever you call it. But the government has imposed a duty on the insurers to collect it together with the insurance payments. So now you can't fail to pay it (unless you fail to insure the vehicle) and you can't be scammed into paying it to someone else. It is also more efficient for the government because they never have to remind anyone to pay or handle any individual payments.

Like excise tax? How much should they have taken? (If thats too personal no worries)
GovanDUNNY · M
@Coralmist no the bank asked me to authorise it .the rip offs got the 50p then 7.85 this morning. The bank should have known something was not right ill try and get it back next week

@GovanDUNNY ugh that sucks. Hopefully you can get it back smoothly.
GovanDUNNY · M
@Coralmist If I hadn't checked and realised something was wrong they would have kept taking the direct debit there must be lots getting scammed by them

@GovanDUNNY Legal? I had the impression this was someone operating a very clever scam involving hacking DVLA or your bank account.
