For anyone with children: please, PLEASE set up a will and other key documents in case something should happen to you.

As someone whose parent very recently passed away, I cannot stress how frustrating and stressful it has been trying to handle my father’s assets without these sort of things being done beforehand. And I feel like I’m not able to begin really grieving his death because my mind and time is consumed with trying to get this all figured out.

I know it can be hard facing your own mortality, but don’t put it off. And for anyone with parents, try to get them to do these things.

Let me tell you what i did. i have a list of all of my assets, passwords , bank acct number, iinsurance policies, phone numbers etc. my finance guy took one look at it and said i better keep it safe. i could be wiped out immediately. i also left my computer password. i have a trust set up and i have lists of where i want my stuff to go. i have my obituary written, my burial and plot paid for. all they have to do is stick me in the ground.
