Is this even legal?

The apartment complex that I live in our lease says the property manager must give 24 hours notice of entry. Today we got a note in the door saying they will be coming in as they feel necessary for the next three weeks. No date or time specified

It would depend on how the 24 hour notice is interpreted by a judge. I wonder if the notice is a pre warning then for each intrusion there will be an additional 24 hour notice? I’d ask them this question.

i'm sure the law favors the owner, but i'd find out. it should be 24 hr notice [b]per[/b] entry, imo.

Definitely a gray area and a 24 hour notice for each visit would be nice especially if you want to be there when they are, you may not be able to stay home for 3 weeks waiting for them. On the other hand they are giving you a warning or notice that they will be by , maybe they have to work around other schedules and don’t really have an exact time but 3 weeks is very vague.

@bijouxbroussard we have heard stories about the old lady that rents houses around here. Going into the houses without a single notice Is one of them. She even told one couple she was selling the house just so she could get the couple out of it.

Ah but if it was in the original lease, the one that you signed, then they would have a legal problem trying to pull a stunt like they're trying to pull

Change the locks put camera up

@Lilnonames the office already has cameras up and if locks need changed they change them. They always get a copy of the key for every unit. I understand they need to come in a couple times a year to make sure there's no meth labs or anything but to just say we'll be in sometime in the next 3 weeks is nonsense
