Canadian Attorney General Announces Citizens Do Not Have “The Absolute Right to Own Private Property”

Trudeau’s Justice Minister and Canadian Attorney General David Lametti announced this week that Canadians do not have an “absolute right to own private property.”

This is what Communism looks like.

Is this going to come as a surprise to Canadian citizens?

Well.....someone got ahead of themselves and outed the big reveal. THAT little nugget was to start taking place as soon as that flaky little brown shirt Trudeau had confiscated everyone's weapons.
But.....you know how that goes historically.

I get the feeling this will only apply to regular people, not the ruling class and the elites. The new Feudal System.

I still think there is a good chance they are aliens terraforming the planet for themselves. They certainly lack any humanity.

Like the son of Castro’s daddy did before him in Cuba, he first disarmed the population, then suspend elections, and then took the population’s stuff .

I wonder if Lametti has any Swiss or Panamanian bank accounts...? 🤔

@Thinkerbell Jealous?

@Wol62

Of the likes of former PM Cameron?

No. 😂

While answering questions on the seizures of russian purchased property.
You also havent exclusive property rights in the us.
Mineral rights.
Eminent domain
Seizures for suspected illegal activity (suspected)

@Budwick i beleive at this moment he was referring to russian nationals. I suppose if you read between the lines, which i dont like to do, you could deduce that he meant any individual coming into property through illegal activities.
Or if you are a whacko conspiracy theorist, you could deduce that he meant the govt could arbitrarily seize private property for the benefit of...what? The evil communist, canadian left?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla Carla - it seems on this one I really did take a lot out of context and focused on the the words that people don't have an absolute right to own property in Canada?

If he meant Russian property it seems reasonable that he could have been more clear.

I award this one to you.
Congratulations.

It isn't that far off here in the US, you buy a home, you pay taxes on the sale price, then you have to pay a tax to the local government every year in order to be able to stay on "your own" property, if you don't pay the governments extortion racket, they confiscate the property and sell it to someone else. Eminent domain is a reason the government can use to relieve you of property as well. I guess we are just holding and maintaining property until the government wants to take it.

@MarmeeMarch They drop the taxable value so you don't get taxed quite as much, but you still have to support the governmental sponges till you die.

communism 101: eliminate people's right to self defense, then any other right can be infringed without resistance...
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Leftist insist that the government is above God. And that's why they believe citizens should not be allowed to own guns.
I'm not clear on all the facts here, but he's talking about expropriation, which happens here in the US as well. The government can take your property, although the 5th Amendment says it must provide just compensation if it does.

I'm not defending it, but it's not quite communism.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee He says citizens don't have the absolute right to own property.
He said nothing about expropriation.

No private property is certainly a part of communism.
@Budwick He said they'd follow all steps necessary for expropriation in the next sentence.

Canada is not communism. Lets wait and see before we start hating them. Canada is a capitalist economy.
And also depends on what "absolute" means... in this case. Some places the state can force you to sell if they need to build a highway.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Lucia

Canada is a capitalist economy

Supposedly, so was NAZI Germany. But is it really a capitalistic economy if the government controls every aspect of what individuals and corporations can do?

Or, have the Communist hijacked capitalism to fix its previous failures and inserted individuals and corporations to run their plantations?

When individual and corporate businesses have to have government approval to even exist, when they must account to the government for every action, when they don't really own their property, it's not capitalism.

before we start hating them.

I don't hate Canadians!
I have severe dislike for this justice minister though.

Just because this numbnutz says it doesn't mean its true. Could be he's just another wacko lefty with no filter on the garbage that spews from his mouth. Sounds a bit like a temporary Washington DC resident we know.
Synyster · 51-55, M
David Lametti is a wanna be lawyer/judge. Trudeau found him in the yellow pages under IDIOTS .
He found his ex finance minister Bill Morneau at Enron, CFO's who specializes in cooking the books.

The great reset you will own nothing
Budwick · 70-79, M

The great reset you will own nothing

I will own those attempting to reset.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@richa

You won't, but the elites will.

Just like the Nomenklatura in the former Soviet Union.

If he told them to go and jump in the lake they'd have to do it right?
