Canadian Attorney General Announces Citizens Do Not Have “The Absolute Right to Own Private Property”

Trudeau’s Justice Minister and Canadian Attorney General David Lametti announced this week that Canadians do not have an “absolute right to own private property.”

This is what Communism looks like.

Is this going to come as a surprise to Canadian citizens?

It isn't that far off here in the US, you buy a home, you pay taxes on the sale price, then you have to pay a tax to the local government every year in order to be able to stay on "your own" property, if you don't pay the governments extortion racket, they confiscate the property and sell it to someone else. Eminent domain is a reason the government can use to relieve you of property as well. I guess we are just holding and maintaining property until the government wants to take it.

@MarmeeMarch Nope, my property taxes are 100% school taxes, state income tax and city taxes pay for all the other stuff. I have absolutely no interactions with the school except for the extortion racket they propagate. I have no children in school, no children using the bus or eating at the cafeteria. It serves no benefit to me.

@MarmeeMarch That makes me feel better, I only have to rent the property that I already paid for and own till I am 65. Then I can actually live there almost free and clear.

@MarmeeMarch They drop the taxable value so you don't get taxed quite as much, but you still have to support the governmental sponges till you die.
