I think those who claim to advocate for " free speech "

Really just want to say what they like without any consequences

That’s [b]exactly[/b] what it’s about. They want consequence-free speech. Our First Amendment, here in the U.S. only protects freedom (in most but not all cases) from being imprisoned for one’s speech. It doesn’t mean you can’t be fired, sued for libel or slander, or face any other kind of backlash by those who disagree.

Exactly, and sadly, these people do, most of the time, evade the consequences for their brand of free speech.
